anyone know how this french name ends up pronounced "far-ve" in english? Just curious

Wed, February 7, 2007 - 7:49 PMit's easy to guess how the american or english trained tongue would take "fah-vray," turn that into "far-vuh" and and then shorten the pronunciation to "farve."

im sure thats the reason....plus being from lousiana, the southern drawl transposed the "r" and "v" quite often. -
